VATME

The Gulf Flight Service Station is an Air Traffic Control Facility created by VATSIM Middle East to promote traffic and activity. The Position is restricted only to Controller 1 rated ATCs and above. This position coves all of VATSIM Middle East This position is manned by one person and can act either as a Flight Service Station (providing non-radar ATC service above FL130) or a large Control Position (providing radar ATC coverage at all altitudes if no lower ATC position is available). This is subject to the discretion of the air traffic controller operating the position at the time. This Position provides ATC Services for the following FIRs: HECC, OJAC, ORBS, OSTT, OLBB, OYSC, OMAE, OOMM, OIIX, OJED and OKAC. The Position's Callsign is "GULF_FSS", its Voice ID is "Gulf Control", and the Frequency is 133.550 Mhz.

Operational NOTAM: If a CTR position is online, that position has full jurisdiction over any aircraft in its airspace and full priority to control and or hand off to GULF_FSS. A CTR position may maintain full radar coverage of any aircraft in its airspace, from the ground up, despite GULF_FSS being online. GULF_FSS is a supplementary position there to cover any areas of VATME that do not have a CTR or APP controller. Per the VATME and VATSIM Standard, CTR controllers may provide DEL/GND/TWR/APP/DEP service to any airport within their airspace if no other lower ATC position is online. Furthermore, GULF_FSS mustadhere to the minimum altitudes: FL130 and above for departures and FL150 and above for arrivals. No ATC instruction other than advisory notices below the minimum altitudes are allowed. This is to ensure that the purpose of GULF_FSS is understood: it is a temporary position online only to provide enroute ATC for areas where there is no ATC coverage.

Before applying , please make sure you adhere with the following requirments :

- Being an active controller in any FIR in Vatsim Middle East Division (VATME). That includes VATJO , VATBAH, VATUAE , VATSAU , VATUAE, VATLEB , VATIR , VATEG, VATKU , VATOM.

- Hold a valid VATSIM rating of Enroute-Controller (C1/CTR).

- A minimum of 50 have to be made in any CTR position within any active Division/FIR/ARTCC in VATSIM before submitting your application.

- VATME will not provide detailed training on how to operate GULF_FSS, all applicants are expected to have enough experience in their local FIR's before controlling GULF_FSS. However , we will provide a short brefiing after approving your application.

- All applicants are expected to have engouh knowledge on operating Euroscope or VRC . Basic orinention is to provided through the briefing package.
